NoPlanB Student Ministries

"What I think is scary about God is that He didn't come up with any 'Plan B.' He left the Church here and the Church is the only group of people and the only institution in the world that can bring about a change." -Rich Mullins (1955-1997)

In August of 2004, our Youth Pastor, Eric Whelchel, outlined the meaning of our student ministry identity we call "NoPlanB."

"As our church and our student ministry strives to reach people who live in a relative world, so grows the need for us to build upon a foundation of truth that God has established as non-negotiable."

There is "NoPlanB" for SALVATION.

A relationship with God is through Jesus Christ, and Him only.  (John 14:6, Acts 4:12)

There is "NoPlanB" for REVELATION.

The Bible is the final word in knowing the person and plan of God.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

There is "NoPlanB" for COMMUNITY.

Because Christ gave Himself for the Church, to live in Christ is to live in community with other believers. We can't be "Lone Ranger" Christians. (Hebrews 10:23-25, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Acts 4:32-35)

There is "NoPlanB" for COMMISSION.

The responsibility to make a difference has been left to us, no one else. So, we must take it seriously. (Acts 1:7-8)

Join our family

Our student ministry is passionate about helping students fall in love with God's Word. We take discipleship seriously and want students to leave our ministry with a knowledge of who God really is through their knowledge of His Word. These are the weekly and monthly opportunities available to get to know us and join us as we grow in God's Kingdom.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

We are fortunate to have special adults who love students and want to lead them in discovering truth. Bible Study begins each Sunday morning at 9:45 AM and meets in our Resolute Worship Center. There are gender-specific and grade-specific classes for all middle and high school students. Feel free to contact any of our class leaders...

6th Grade Co-ed - Jeff & Tracy Baker

7th & 8th Grade Boys - Robby Dooley & Jody Quarles

7th & 8th Grade Girls - Tammy Crowe

High School Girls - Kim Whelchel & Kelly Dooley

High School Boys - Michael Watson & Jon Crowe

F1rst Sunday Breakfast

The first Sunday of each month, during our Bible Study hour at 9:45 AM, we have a department-wide breakfast and all our students come together. Our Bible study leaders serve our students each month a full, hot breakfast...sausage, biscuits, gravy, and hoshbrowns. This is a great time to visit if you just want to get to know us. Before we dismiss for worship, Eric will bring everyone together for a short devotional message. Our students look forward to this event each month.

Wednesday Night "NoPlanB"

The week can seem long between Sunday and Wednesday. Wednesday nights are a time to come together around God's Word and refocus. We meet from 6:30-8:00 PM in our Christian Life Center. Our studies & teaching during this time are usually topical, led by Eric, our Youth Pastor. We value an atmosphere of honesty in order to make our time together relevant and applicable. We would love to have you join us!

Guys' & Girls' Nights @ Eric & Kim's

Two Thursday nights each month, Eric & Kim's house is filled with teenagers...and they love it! On Girls' Nights, the ladies come together to be themselves and enjoy some "girl time" together around a themed Bible study with Kim. Guys' Night is ruled by the boys and becomes time for some honest and real discussions around scripture with Eric. Every Thursday night is full of food, fun, and building friendships. We would love to have you join us! These meetings happen throughout the school year. For information about when our next Guys'/Girls' Night is scheduled, contact Eric.

Worship Leader

Stephen Miller

Stephen Miller is a pastor and artist who strives to enlarge peoples view of God with the truth of Scripture and artfully give a vocabulary to express thankfulness and praise to Him. He serves as Associate Pastor of Worship at Prestonwood Baptist Church-North Campus.   Believing that songs alone are insufficient to express our love for God and are, in fact, our smallest expression of worship, Stephen is adamant that worship is a lifestyle expressed through mercy, justice and compassion. He is a passionate advocate for orphans and serves as a Compassion International artist, helping to rescue children out of poverty in Jesus' name.
